Submit your thoughts on the proposed expansion plans for Ormiston College

By August 18, 2025 News

Please consider sending a short submission to the State Government to let them know your thoughts on the proposed expansion plans for Ormiston College.

For those of you who missed the news article published by Redland Bayside News on July 30th 2025, below is an excerpt.
“Should special rules apply for the College to be allowed to destroy protected Koala habitat? We do not believe this sets a good example for future generations considering Koalas are listed as ‘endangered’. A koala has been sighted most days in the past few weeks in trees that are earmarked for removal.”

The dark green areas on the map above shows how much habitat is mapped as protected ‘Core Koala Habitat’ and ‘High Ecological Value Wetland’.

The College expansion plans (see following link) will require the removal of 653 mature habitat trees to make way for new buildings and three new junior sports ovals.
