Are you up for a challenge? The City Nature Challenge that is!
Cities around the world will be competing to see who can make the most observations of nature, find the most species and engage the most people in the 2020 City Nature Challenge. This year Redlands Coast is up for the challenge!
As an IndigiScapes volunteer or participant, you are encouraged to get involved in the City Nature Challenge and capture an image and record your local native flora and fauna, even just in your backyard. It’s a great excuse to grab your family and friends and venture out in nature over the weekend of 23-27 April 2020. It could be your backyard, parkland, reserve, river etc.
Date: 23 April – 27 April 2020
Where: Across the Redlands Coast
Attached is a simple guide on downloading and using the iNaturalist App. iNaturalist Quick Guide PDF
If you want some practice before the event, you can visit the iNaturalist project site and the City Nature Challenge site for more information and stay tuned to our INdigiScapes Facebook page.
Your sightings help scientists to manage, protect and conserve biodiversity on Redlands Coast and we might just win the challenge for the most observations.
We look forward to seeing all the amazing records within the Redlands Coast during the City Nature Challenge event. Result from the event should be up from 4 May 2020.
