Discover koalas in the wild with the Detection Dogs for Conservation
Have you ever had the joy of encountering a koala in the wild? Our fluffiest marsupial friend is renowned for loving a game of hide and seek – but we’ll show you how to find them.
Join the University of the Sunshine Coast researchers and detection dogs for a koala spotting walk where you’ll learn trade tips and tricks to find these elusive marsupials in your neighbourhood.
Guided walks will start at Henry Ziegenfusz Park, field two – leaving at 8am, 9am and 10am.
Redland City Council koala conservation officers will be there on the day to answer your questions and share how we can all help koalas.
To kick-start the morning, Cleveland Rotary will be firing up the BBQ and offering free bacon and egg burgers.
What to bring: Enclosed walking shoes, sun safe clothing, a hat, sunscreen and a drink bottle.
Parking: There is plenty of parking on Fitzroy Street.
Notes:
All ages welcome. Walks will be approximately 45 minutes and young children may need some help from a parent or guardian.
Children attending must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.
