Visit (the video link below to see) the Birkdale Commonwealth Lands, a massive expanse of rolling grasses, diverse vegetation and historic significance, which adjoin the Old Willard Farm Homestead along Old Cleveland Road East.
This extensive area connects Thorneside, St James Park, Howeston Golf Course, Capalaba Regional Park and the vast tracts of lands that extend all the way to Leslie Harrison Dam and then on the Brisbane side, Burbank, Mackenzie, Belmont, Chandler, Gumdale & Tingalpa along the banks of what becomes Tingalpa Creek.
There is still evidence of many active Koalas in the area and provides important habitat for many other indigenous fauna species including wallabies, sugar gliders and echidna.
Please be aware this is Koala breeding season and with the warmer days, they are likely to be on the move.
